Longer Video - Nutrient Dense BURST and INVERTED snacks

After getting my laptop rained off and losing a lot of work and passwords thought to have a go at putting together a longer video. First attempts at this sort of thing!

Inverted box

Best effort so far.
Terrible style so lot's of room for improvement but so happy to get this beast running at all.

Broken and Inverted training

New funky 3 ball pattern ideas every day in the hot season Karnataka 40 degrees. Today thought about how to do broken and inverted 2x moves in the same pattern and ended up with this gem...
Broken throw, halfway takeout, inverted 2x then slam
If you cancel out the normal box throw it becomes one sided so what to do?
Put another inverted 2x? Okay then! Not running for long but great while it lasted...
22/04 bit better today?!, really like these patterns...
Finding it hard but such good practise for inverted box that I'm loving it.

Broken Takeouts

Continue to explore broken patterns and recently inspired by '3ballpatterns' David Donelan's video which is excellent. This pattern is superb with the one ball doing a cross arm cascade all by itself while the other two do the 'broken business'.

441mess Hybrids

Some classic mix up patterns, fun to do. No wrist drops here but instead a Mills mess 441 in between the fast take around and slam.
 Without the slam...
Without the takeout...

Broken variations

So many fun mix ups with this throw.
Broken cross armed columns and Broken Boston Type of.
'Broken drops' one side but still great.

Broken shower felt fast with the throw after the 2x going the other way than usual

Mix of Revenge, N box, broken etc. is training a lot of different throws so is my new favourite warm up since today, so nice.

TakeoutDropSlam

Much faster version of something I learned before, nice pattern.

Top box slam

Superb mix up with one ball doing a reverse slam, top slam then a normal slam to repeat on the other side.
Surprised I can run it even a little and feels good for short bursts in bad style. So far one of the hardest 3 ball box patterns I've ever tried to learn properly.
Good practise for the seemingly much harder inverted box also. Iron out the horrible differences between left and right which always takes time.

'Top slam' (inverted) training patterns

To attempt that tricky over the top 2x throw from the inverted box without trying that is the idea

Another one to practise that throw is to exchange the 'half take out' carry for a reverse slam.
Only one side today but soon to get the symmetrical version.

ZigZag

How to describe it maybe 'Burke's carry then outside reverse slam normal'. Super fun love the zigzag shape.

Nbox half/Fast

Saw Artifaxiom doing this pattern and had to try it...

Good fun but how to make it symmetrical, ok, just, er...

'WristDrop' training frenzy

Thinking about how I like this throw but how to train it properly?
Tried to copy Noslowerdna, Jahvorsky and Mura345 patterns but it didn't work out. Those things are mostly too advanced so I have to think of more basic things. Need to practise the actual 'throw'  before trying radical patterns.
Even so the simple slam, drop thing I ended up with first is a lot of fun in it's own right.

So try to cancel out the normal throw but only on one side...

Thought to put an under the wrist catch before the drop and ended up with...

Liking these patterns too much!

Bursted Revenge

Mix of 'BurstBox' and R Revenge, slams and wrist drop. Nice if I can remember which throw is coming next!

Twisted Revenge

It's a description as it's based on R Revenge and twisting my mind!
First day so get it on one side only, nice!
Then trying to make it symmetrical..mind twist!.

Love the pattern just want to get it properly symmetrical and smooth.

Takearound

Fun pattern with the long carry then wrist drop
Then trying to make it symmetrical...

SlicedShuffle3

Liked this pattern before but had problems with my left wrist which somehow wouldn't cooperate with an old injury so left it for a while. Today felt much better. More about being 'loose handed' to not stress tendons and joints!
The best 3 ball multiplex pattern I've learned.

Other classic multiplex patterns with only 3 balls?

Multiplex Barrage through the split

Not around or behind the split but actually through it changes the whole timing making a more tricky and interesting pattern.

Friday, March 1, 2019

BurstBrokenShuffles

Combining the two gives a good pattern also.

Respect to Slowerdna for inspiration, just beautiful.
The 3 patterns
On the way to getting that pattern another two just happened by 'mistake'
one of them like Gilligans box with slams and another faster version with only the four throws each side (instead of five)

Visiting Factory

I learned standard 3 beat factory just after getting the 3 ball cascade which was fun but it felt mechanical and one sided so I left it at that. After seeing some great variations thought to go back there for another visit and try...

Mess, drop, slams...

Bit of Mills mess with a wrist drop then slam makes for interesting patterns. Symmetrical with an extra throw to change sides or staying on one side for a faster overall juggle. How to carry that speed into a symmetrical version?
Febuary has been the 'month of shuffles'of juggling life so far but not to forget mess's and wrist drop.

4 ball Mutiplex 'BostonShuffle'

I think it's the closest thing and almost the same as that real pattern Boston Shuffle but with an extra ball for a crossing multiplex stack and a slam through the balls, very good, like this.
Base pattern ([6x4x],2)(6x,2x)(2,2)*

'Levels'

Today 'Levels' learning which is a strangely interesting and beautiful 3 ball pattern made of slams, half drops and fast funny catches. Tiring as your hands are mostly up in the air! It's a 'multi level shape distortion of the double box'.

1st run shivering,

Sunset time better

Such a good pattern.

4 ball 'SlicedShuffle'

Funky move to get the 6 throw high enough while at the same time the 4 low enough to make the slam over the [42x] slice. Strange rhythm but good when it works.

SlowShuffleMultiplex-up to 5

Trying not to train too many one side patterns just now but had to make exception for this one so I could say to myself, "I did a 5 ball juggle with a slam throw!" It's quite slow and easy but still easy to get mistakes with my Russians.
It's basically the same pattern first with 3 balls then 4 and then finally 5 with the slam throw going through a [64] split then a [54]. Love learning things in 5 minutes.
Symmetrical version has to be coming soon.

4ballShuffle-NonMultiplex

This first pattern I tried so far is good and requires some precision (neck catches) to keep it clean. Really like to get suggestions on other 4 ball patterns that could be used with slam shuffle type throws.

MultiplexDoubleShuffle

Most enjoyable so far. One slam into the multiplex then another one from the same side through the [6x4x] split and repeated on the other side. Lot of fun this one.
This Gif is not entirely accurate but gives the general idea

Siteswap 6161671

Good place for juggling and nice pattern with the same ball going over the top all the time.
Looks so good in the lab

Combining multiplex & Slams, cont.

Trying every type of pattern I can imagine with the help of the Jugglelab generator.
This one based on ([64],2)(2x,4)(6x,2)(2,[22])*
Finding it tricky to keep up with the speed and precision for very long with the 4 from the [64] quickly becoming the crossing throw 6x (or 4x).
This next one should be based on (2,4x)([6x4x],2)(4,2x)*
Seem to have entered into a huge rabbit hole with this idea, so many good patterns just go with the feeling and search the best ones.

Multiplex Shuffle experiments

Started the practise session thinking...'What could be the easiest 4 ball pattern to use shuffle type throws?'
Got some ideas but none were one day, same day learning type things needing more practise days so ended up with multiplex. Cheating but still nice.
This one based on 622[54]1
But how to get a shuffle throw through the split? Timing is more precise but so good when it works for any pattern. So much potential.

Or just throw a 5 through the split, also nice.

5 ball Tennis Is Fun?

It's funny and more tricky than I first thought as the outsider ball always wants to become a 6x but has to stay nicely in it's 5 place to avoid disturbing the timing of the other 4 balls.
This Gif diagram makes a funny impression of the struggle to keep everything normal and prevent collisions.

I feel good about small progress but won't stop until I can run 10 rounds and so at the same time feel like I have made some gains on 5 ball stability.

SlamReverseSlam?

Also called Walking/double N-Box although it doesn't resemble a box that much any more and my pattern is more like Slam reverse slam tennis with the crossing over the top ball always the same unlike Luke's Shuffle which has the same ball doing the slam every time.

Or doing the throw in a 441 pattern which even though slower than Luke's shuffle means every ball has a chance to be the slammed ball on each side.

Just great to try mixing up different boxes

4 ball box

Finding it hard to get accurate throws to keep the speed in control.
At least it's not impossible like last time a few months back.

1234567 in Heaven

The absolute classic siteswap 1234567.
Some kids want to learn as well as myself. Who is more retarded? After quite a long time and hours managed to scrape 30 catches.

We dislike when it somehow falls into sync mode (6x,4)(6x,2x)(2,4x)*
If we actually remember, lower 3's and higher 7's'
It should click like this beautiful GIF...

Later on the hill 36 catches felt better than morning and for sure I can get it lower and more controlled 'repairing the pattern' on the way.

23456

This one is simply superb with the beautiful high build up on each side.
Makes me psyched to try and learn 1234567!

Different funny Slices

Another one I watched in Jugglelab and thought it must be difficult as the throw and catch is awkward enough without having another ball in your hand at the same time?! It's not all that bad like I thought.
([4x2x],2)*
([42x],2)(4x,[22])*
Then by accident found myself doing a sliced Triplex pattern probably the easiest there is but it's anyway good fun.
(4x,2)(4x,[22])(0,[442x2x])*
